Cloud9's Best and Worst Case Playoff Scenarios

FLOATING ON CLOUD 9 SCENARIO:

  • C9 wins both games and finishes season with a 12-8 record.
  • Team DIG wins against CLG, but loses against Team Liquid.
  • CLG loses to both TSM and DIG.
  • C9 ends the split in the 3rd place spot behind IMT and TSM.
  • As the 3rd seed, C9 will face the 6th seed during the quarterfinals (1st round), Envy.
  • If C9 make it to the semifinals (2nd round), most likely TSM will be their opponent.

 CLOUD 9’S NIGHTMARE SCENARIO:

  • C9 loses both matches against Envy and Echo Fox, finishing with a 10-8 record.
  • Envy wins both matches against Immortals and C9, finishing with a 10-8 record.
  • C9 vs. Envy match up on Saturday is extremely important because it can determine who is the 5th and 6th seed. If Envy wins both matches and C9 loses both matches this weekend, Envy will be 5th seed because they would have won both matches against C9 during the season.
  • C9 will face the 3rd seed during the quarterfinals (1st round), most likely CLG. Cloud 9's match record against CLG during the season was 0-2.
  • As the 6th seed, C9 will face the 1st seed if they make it to the semifinals (2nd round), most likely TSM. Both teams split the season matches and went 1-1.

The Most Competitive Split Ever In NA LCS History

This is the most competitive split of NA LCS ever. For a long time competitive league in North America had become predictable. You knew TSM would make it to the finals, either C9 or CLG would meet them there and Team Liquid would be 4th. Although on the surface things may appear the same, the fact of the matter is they have changed drastically. Gone are the days where the bottom half of the NA LCS teams are just there for the ride. All teams from number one to number ten are doing everything they can to be competitive and it’s awesome. We live in a world where former world champions are at the bottom half of the spectrum. If you would’ve told me after season 3 that Piglet clearly one of the world’s best ADCs in that time would be in a last place team in North America, I would’ve thought you were crazy. But that is the beauty of the NA LCS right now. These teams are doing everything they can to create competitive rosters and establish greater infrastructures and it still ...

Does Hai Have One Run Left In Him?

The third team to represent North America at the 2017 World Championship will be decided this weekend. The big question is does Hai have another run left in him. Hai has had a historic career, and he is undoubtedly the best shot caller North America has produced. We have seen in the past Cloud 9 attempt to move on without Hai only to bring him back to the starting roster to save them from relegations. Since then the times have changed, but there is one thing that is certain, you can never count out Hai. He has proven himself time and time again that even if he is lacking in-game mechanics, he makes up for it in game knowledge and team moral. When Cloud 9 made their historic run to Worlds with their reverse sweep through the gauntlet, it was on the back of Hai. Through Hai’s shotcalling and leadership in and out of the game, he was able to take the team from dodging relegations to upsetting teams at Worlds. Flyquest quietly ...
